What It Takes

Becoming a driver in the logistics industry gives you the chance to take command of the open road in the country you helped protect. It’s a job for those who don’t mind working alone, and who like to visit new places every day.

Excellent Hand-Eye Coordination

Reacting to hazardous conditions—and even shifting gears—in a large van or truck takes great hand-eye coordination.

An Independent Mindset

Drivers often spend much of the working day alone while they’re out on the road.

Exceptional Hearing

Federal regulations require logistics drivers to hear a forced whisper in one ear at five feet away, without the use of a hearing aid.

Good Health

Many drivers are in better shape than you’d think. In fact, federal regulations do not allow people to become truck drivers with certain medical conditions.

Clear Vision

Drivers must have at least 20/40 vision with a 70-degree field of vision in each eye, and can’t be colorblind.
