Privacy Policy

Purpose 

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) provides information about how INvets (“INvets”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and handles personal information collected on or through the Application, Site, or Services.  This Policy is part of, and fully incorporated into, our Terms of Use.  Unless otherwise specified herein, defined terms or phrases in the Terms of Use have the same meaning in this Policy.

This Policy applies only to information we collect online when you visit our website (https://www.invets.org/) and does not apply to information we collect in person or through other means.  This Policy applies to visitors to the Site and to Users of the Application and Services who have created accounts through the Site (“You” or “Your”).  Except as otherwise specified herein, the term “Site” shall include and incorporate activities conducted on and through the “Application” and “Services.”

By using the Site, You agree to our Terms of Use and this Policy.  If You do not agree, You may not, and are not authorized to, use the Site and You must cease all engagement in any INvets offerings.

This Policy may change from time to time.  We reserve the right to make such changes in our discretion, and without further notice, so You should check our Site periodically to view the current Policy.  When changes are made to this Policy, a revised Policy will be posted to the Site.  We will revise the “effective date” of this Policy and may include a description of material changes. If we make material changes to how we treat Your personal information, we will notify you by email to the primary email address specified in your account or through a notice on the website home page. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for you, and for periodically visiting our website and this privacy policy to check for any changes.

Children’s Online Privacy

We do not intentionally collect information on this Site from children. No one under the age of 16 may provide any information to or on the website. The Site is designed and intended to be used only by individuals age 18 and older and is not directed to and may not be used by children.  If You are a parent or guardian and discover that personal information from or about Your minor child has been provided on this Site, please contact us at support@invets.org.

Information We Collect in General

In general, You can visit our Site without disclosing Your identity or personal information.  There may, however, be instances when we ask You to provide certain personal information, such as Your name, characterization of military service, address, telephone number, email, job title, or place of employment.  If You voluntarily provide us with Your personal information through the Site, You consent to the collection and processing of such information by INvets and our third party partners.  You are not required to provide such personal information, but if You choose not to do so, it may impact our ability to provide You with certain services or assistance.  You may withdraw Your consent at any time by contacting us as provided below and terminating your account.

We may use Your email address to send You messages, including to communicate about the Application and Services, provide regular updates, or convey special offers. We may also contact You by telephone if You voluntarily provide us with Your telephone number to discuss the Application and our Services.  You may opt out of receiving communications from us at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us as provided below.

We may use the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the device You use to access our Site to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our web site.  Your IP address identifies Your device and allows us to gather broad demographic information on Site visitors.  Individual visitors will remain anonymous, unless You voluntarily tell us who You are.

In general, we use the information we collect through the Site:  

  • to provide the information and services You request;
  • to provide You with a personalized experience when You use our Site;
  • to contact You with information and notices related to Your use of our Site;
  • to improve the functionality and usability of our Site;
  • to better understand Your needs and interests;
  • for security or fraud prevention purposes; and
  • for any other purpose identified in an applicable privacy notice, click-through agreement, or other agreement between You and us.

Information We Collect from Candidates

Candidates may be asked to provide information, such as name, resume, email, phone number, and information relating to Your education and work experience, in order to create a candidate profile (“Profile Information”).  Profile Information will be accessible to all Employers on the Application.  When requesting additional information from a Candidate, we will provide guidance in the Application concerning these disclosures.  You are not required to provide this information to complete the profile, but if You choose not to do so, it could impact Your experience on and the functionality of the Application.  

Candidates may also be asked to provide certain information which we, or our third party partners, may use for research or product development and improvement purposes. You are not required to provide Private Information.    Except as otherwise provided in this Policy, INvets will not share Private Information on Your candidate profile or with any 3rd party without Your permission.  Additional instructions and guidance concerning these disclosures will be clearly provided within the Application when the disclosure is requested.

Protecting Your Information

The Site maintains appropriate security measures to ensure the security of personal information covered by this Policy and to protect such information from unauthorized use, access, or loss.  We follow reasonable policies and procedures to protect personal information and comply with all applicable laws, including by limiting access to personal information and maintaining a written data security policy that describes the policies and procedures by which we maintain data security.  We maintain reasonable administrative, physical, and technological measures to protect the confidentiality and security of information You submit on or through our Site in accordance with applicable laws.   Unfortunately, no website or server is completely secure.  We cannot guarantee that Your personal information will not be disclosed, misused or lost, including by the unauthorized acts of others.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent any personal information we collect on this Site to any third party.  We do not disclose any personal information to any third party except as needed to fulfill the purposes of this Site. We may share Your personal information: 

  • With an Employer, including the Employer’s designated Users, as described in the Application and authorized by the Candidate;
  • With the Candidate, as described in the Application and authorized by the Employer’s account Administrator; and
  • With our subcontractors or third party partners who provide services to us, including relating to business operations, our hardware, software, databases, data security, and communications infrastructure.

We may share Your personal information as required by law, or in order to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, or to otherwise protect our legal or contractual rights or obligations.  We may also disclose, transfer, or otherwise provide, in connection with a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or other transaction involving all or part of our assets, Your personal information to one or more third parties as part of, or in relation to, that transaction.  In such circumstances, You will be notified via a prominent notice on our Site of any change in ownership or uses of Your personal information, as well as any choices You may have regarding Your personal information.

INvets does not permit third parties, and such parties are not authorized, to bulk collect student data or other marketable information from the Application through the use of scripts (“scraping” technology) or similar technologies or methodologies.

Third Party Websites  

You may visit other websites, through links on our Site, which may collect, use and share Your personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. The information practices of those websites linking to or from our Site are not covered by this Policy and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such sites.  We do not assume any responsibility, and are not liable, for any acts or omissions of third parties, including the manner in which they use information received either from us or independently.  For more information about how Your information may be collected, used, or shared by any of these third parties, please refer to their privacy policies, terms of use, and any other agreements.

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and interact with our website, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

  • Details of your visits to our website, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on the website.
  • Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

Cookies

Parts of our Site may use a browser feature called “cookies.”  A “cookie” is a small data file that is placed on the hard drive (or equivalent storage device) of Your computer (or similar computing device) when You visit a web site so that the website can recognize You when You revisit and remember certain information about You.  This can include which pages You have visited, choices You have made from menus, any specific information You have entered and the time and date of Your visit.  A “session cookie” expires immediately when You end Your session (i.e., close Your browser).  A “persistent cookie” stores information on the hard drive so that when You end Your session and return to the same web site at a later date, the cookie information is still available.  In addition to session cookies and persistent cookies, there may be other cookies which are set by websites which You have chosen to visit, such as this Site, to provide us or third parties with information.

We may use cookies to recognize visitors when You return to our Site so that we can customize Your online visit or alert You to new web site features.  Cookies help us to learn what content is important to You and what is not.  We may also evaluate and improve our content and services and tailor our Site for visitors, based on other information we collect such as IP addresses, pixel tags, and the type of browser or operating system You are using. We contract with service providers to provide us with data collection and reports regarding customer activities on our Site. These service providers may use cookies on our behalf and may receive information about Your browsing activity.  They may store information such as city, state, zip code, and/or email address on our behalf.  Under no circumstances may our service providers use Your information other than in connection with providing services to us so that our Site can become more useful and efficient.

Please note that the Add-on does not prevent information from being sent to us.

We use Facebook Pixel technology to measure, optimize and build audiences for advertising campaigns served on Facebook. It allows us to see how our visitors move between devices when accessing the Services and Facebook, and to ensure that our Facebook advertising are seen by users most interested in such advertising.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You can review and change your personal information by logging into the website and visiting your account profile page.

You may also send us an email at support@invets.org to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
