Florida-based route manager Shay Johnson has served in the Army Reserve since 2009. With a deep-rooted family history of military service and adventure, she didn't hesitate to join. Shay is a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) specialist, but she has served in missions that saw her go well beyond that scope. "When Hurricane Irma hit Florida in 2017, many people were left without power and stranded in floodwater," Shay recalled. "So, we went on a search and rescue operation. I remember we even had to stay overnight in an abandoned bank at one point." Shay received the Army Achievement Medal for her efforts. Her passion to help others and serve her country is coupled with an ambitious streak that defines her tenacity. Thank you for your service, Shay. Your drive and ambition remind us of what is possible when we put our heart and mind to something.
Shay Johnson, U.S. ARMY Reserve, WM Route Manager
