Portland Arch Nature Reserve

The natural beauty of our land draws many visitors as we are home to the Portland Arch Nature Reserve. The natural bridge above this arch is one of only a few in Indiana. The opening was caused by undercutting of the sandstone bluff on both sides, but the sandstone was strong enough that the rock did not collapse, and this arch was formed.

A Splash of Color

Renowned muralist Eugene Savage directed local artists in the painting of the murals around Covington, adding his own contribution of panels. A tradition we uphold today.

Historic DEVON Theatre

Besides our abundant amount of nature and impressive courthouse, we are also home to the Historic DEVON Theatre which opened in 1938. You can also visit the award winning Old 55 Distillery, Wolf’s Fine Handmade Chocolates, or the popular Badlands Off Road Park.
